Smoke and Mirrors

The Ricochet Project

Physical Theatre

Calculating the stocks of our emotional economy, Smoke and Mirrors combines poetic acrobatics, contemporary dance, contortion and high flying feats to examine the current state of America in the pursuit of happiness. Ricochet deliver an honest, fresh acrobatic perspective to the themes of isolation, oppression, yearning and hope.

Undressing the suit of capitalism, Ricochet’s nearly naked approach to contemporary circus reveals the inner workings of humans doing their best to find a place of realness and connecting in an enduring culture of illusion.

★★★★ "This is circus with brains as well as good looks... it utilises the circus form as a metaphor to examine a state of mind, and ask pressing questions about how we live today, and how we might better live in harmony. Completely mesmerising." Lynn Gardner, The Guardian

★★★★★ "Incredible skill and emotional resonance... Beyond beautiful." The Scotsman

★★★★★ "This is contemporary circus at its most richly expressive: a metaphor for the effects of an exploitative economy on our lives and loves." Fest Magazine

“This is physical theatre at its most exquisite..." Philadelphia Inquirer
