“The show's pacing is impeccable. Erdal balances humor, beauty, and tragedy with the expertise of a tightrope walker" Portland Monthly

"It may sound like a grim, three-hankie experience, but along with the tears, there is humour, and life" Globe & Mail

“Warm, witty and, naturally, beautifully lit." Vancouver Sun

A master class in lighting design and life changing decisions.
Canadian based, award-winning lighting designer, Itai Erdal received a phone call telling him his mother was diagnosed with lung cancer and had nine months to live. A recent film-school graduate, Erdal promptly travelled to Israel to spend every moment he could with his mother. During that time he shot hours of film and hundreds of pictures, documenting her final days. In this deeply profound yet surprisingly funny theatre piece, Erdal demonstrates his approach to theatrical lighting while reflecting on mortality and family as he reveals the events that followed his mother asking him to help her die.  Winner of the 2013 SummerWorks Award for Direction.

Performed and written by Itai Erdal in collaboration with James Long, Anita Rochon and Emelia Symington Fedy Directed by James Long
